  • Breed association actions, including registration issues
  • Performance association actions, including professional status determinations and suspensions
  • Products liability issues relating to trailers and other specialized equipment

Texas Equine Limited Liability Laws

In 1995, Texas enacted statutes limiting the liability of equine activity sponsors and equine professionals in certain circumstances.  In 2001, the Texas State Legislature amended these laws to also cover livestock shows.  In order to avail yourself of these protections, certain warning notices must be provided.

Everyone involved in equine-related activities & stock shows should read and familiarize themselves with these statutes, as the terms "equine activity sponsor" and "equine professional" have broad legal definitions which may apply to you.
